Hi,

This is our 2 year old French bulldog Hugo, he was rescued as a puppy from unimaginable conditions and has since had an amazing life he’s always full of smiles and energy.

on the 26/07/2025 he was unfortunately involved in a hit and run by an reckless motorbike driver whilst out. The driver was speeding beyond the limits of the road and misjudged a sharp bend at the top of a steep hill causing him to swerve and hit Hugo.

After the collision the driver failed to stop but did look back at the damage he had caused. Leaving Hugo on the floor screaming coughing up blood.

with immediate action he was rushed to the nearest vet who rushed Hugo through an exam which we was then told the force of the bike not only broke his leg but it also misplaced his bones and would require specialist surgery however the impact also caused damage to his ribs and lungs. Hugo had tire lacerations down his broken leg leaving him with open wounds.

Hugo has currently undergone a massive surgery which was more major than even first anticipated and has now had 2 metal plates and screws in both side of his leg and is currently in ICU at the special vet due to the damage to his lungs and how major the surgery was.

we are hopeful and praying every single day that our boy will pull through this horrific incident and with more hope that the reckless and irresponsible driver will be caught for his actions that caused this life changing tragedy.

we as dog owners are working hard to continue to try and pay for his ongoing care for when he leaves the hospital after his £3600 surgery but are looking for help and support from the last of the people with humanity to provide a little help in ensuring he continues to receive the best care possible for him to make a full recovery.
