Linda Bradford was recently diagnosed with a very rare & aggressive sarcoma cancer. After a recent surgery & a week at MD Anderson doing tests, her treatment plan starts today with 4 month's of intensive chemo while at St. John's in Tulsa. She will be admitted in the hospital for 6 days of chemo, off 2 weeks for recovery & repeat this process over the next 4 months. Her doctors advise she will be very sick & it's unlikely she will be able to work during this time. After chemo will be 5 weeks of radiation (3 times a week), then another surgery.
Linda has served Bartlesville Public Schools in the food service program for approximately 28 years. Her & Alan (her husband) are both employed at BPS. If you don't know Linda & Alan, they are some of the most giving people I've ever known. They have always been there to help anyone that needed it. Being the givers that they are, I'm sure you can understand, it is tough being on the receiving end of things. Shawn and I do this out of love & respect for his Mom and family & because we've had several people ask what they can do to help. Linda and Alan would never ask for anything, they would only ask for prayers for healing & the best care for Linda during this time.
That being said, putting an amount on this fundraiser is a very hard thing to do. As it would be for anyone, medical bills, transportation to and from appointments, Linda's care and loss of income will be a financial strain on the family. Shawn's sister, Amanda has also started a t-shirt fundraiser for their Mom. Please know that your prayers are very valuable to Linda & her family & we are going to do everything we can to help her through this journey. We pray that Linda's doctors can keep her pain from getting worse, her sickness during treatment to be as minimal as possible & most importantly to be cancer free. For any questions or things you would like to do to help, please let Shawn or I know (her Son & Daughter-in-law). Sharing this post can also help & is welcomed!
