ON A JOURNEY TO HEALING AND CHANGE... PLZ HELP!

I hope this message finds you well. My name is Rusty and I am reaching out to share a part of my life story with you. I am currently in a situation where I desperately need your support to overcome a significant hurdle on my path to recovery.

My journey has been a tumultuous one, marked by early trauma, substance abuse, and a long battle with addiction. However, since September 1st, 2021, I have been tirelessly working on turning my life around. I am actively engaged in Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, and Refuge Recovery groups. These programs, particularly the mindfulness-based approach of Refuge Recovery, have played a crucial role in my healing process.

Recently, I've managed to secure employment as a maintenance custodial worker at a local college. This job, along with my commitment to my recovery programs, has been the cornerstone of my efforts to rebuild my life. However, life has thrown another challenge my way.

My only means of transportation, my car, is in urgent need of repair. Just when I thought I was gaining some stability, this unexpected setback has put a strain on my ability to maintain my commitments. I was involved in an incident on Lea Hill Road, and the impact on my car has left me unable to afford the necessary repairs.

I am reaching out to you and others with a humble request for assistance. The funds raised will go directly towards fixing my car, enabling me to continue attending crucial appointments, including my work and recovery program sessions. I am not asking for sympathy or playing the victim; I fully acknowledge the mistakes of my past. Instead, I am seeking support from those who believe in the power of change and redemption.
