Omarion's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
Hi Everyone,
I am reaching out on behalf of my brother Mario, sister-in-law Valerie, and nephew, Omarion Otto-Broomstein. On March 8th, 21-year-old Omarion was in a terrible motorcycle accident that left him with broken ribs, respiratory issues, and a T3 spinal cord injury. He has undergone a number of surgeries and was in the ICU for several weeks afterward. On March 26th, he was transferred to the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital to begin his recovery journey.
To know Omarion is to love him. He is kind, charismatic, and the best brother to his 4 siblings. He is never one to back down from a challenge and has a way of making the best out of whatever life throws his way. As a premature baby who spent weeks in the NICU, Omarion has always been a fighter, and now he is facing the biggest fight of his life.
The extent of his injuries is still unknown. As it stands, Omarion is paralyzed from the chest down and will be dependent on a wheelchair for day-to-day activities. We are all hoping for a miracle, and until we know the full extent, we want to provide him with the utmost fighting chance.
Being at Spaulding has been very beneficial for him as he has started to regain movement in his upper limbs. Since the accident, he has been very determined to make a full recovery and he is working hard every day to regain his strength. We would love to allow him to stay there for as long as he needs and, as you can imagine, that will be costly.
We’re asking for your support to help with the unavoidable expenses that come along with such a tragedy, including hospital bills, continued outpatient care, medications and supplies, adaptive/medical equipment, as well as making the home he will be going to handicap accessible to ensure his safety.
Any contribution, big or small, is greatly appreciated. If you are unable to donate monetarily but still would like to support, please share this with your friends and family, and continue to keep Omarion in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you in advance.
