On November 22, 2021 we lost our father, Omar Malavé to Suicide. In September 2015 we lost our mother, Evelyn to a failed suicide attempt resulting in her having an anoxic brain injury. Evelyn, can no longer resume independent living since 2015. Her children, Omarlyn, Denise, Melanie, and Omar Jr, have been caring for her since 2015 while their father, Omar was still working full time which involved a lot of traveling outside of the country. The family has been battling mental health issues since, and have now come together again in the face of another family tragedy. 

In 2011 Omar and Evelyn lost their first grand-child, Eli age 3 tragically, and the family would like the resting place to be with their grandson Eli.

Omar Malavé's surviving children have set up this account to alleviate the financial burden of a funeral and related expenses. Any additional funds exceeding the goal will go in the support and care of Omar's surviving spouse, Evelyn as she requires a full-time caregiver, as well as a percentage donated to suicide prevention if the goal is exceeded.
