Olympic Training Camp Invite

Hi! My name is Hannah Jordan. I just turned 16 yesterday.
     About a week ago, something really incredible happened. I was invited to the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs!!! I was sent an invitation to a Women's Talent I.D. Camp by the USA Cycling Association. The camp is "for athletes that USA Cycling have identified and would like to develop for international competition". This is really cool for any athlete. This is SUPER cool for me since I only learned to ride a bike two years ago!!!
     The best thing about this invite for me was that the USA Cycling scouts did not know my story. They only knew my results. They knew how long I had been cycyling and my age.   I am super excited about this opportunity!!! I will also attend a 14, 000 foot National Championship race and try to win a jersey for Hill Climbing. It is my favorite style of racing. It is also something that I don't get to do much of being at sea level. I hope to do some track racing while I am there as well. This will help me with my cadence and my ability to sprint at the end of a race. This is my biggest challenge because of my size and my junior gearing against grown-ups. 
     As you can tell by my picture, I am hooked up to some equipment that makes me a little different than my competition.  I have had a gastrostomy tube for ten years.  I was very sick for almost my entire life.  I am not going to lie, it is a pain sometimes. I try not to let it stop me from living my life the very best I can though. I could not live life without it, so I try not to let it slow me down. 
      I was asked to do a fundraiser specifically for these events. Anything you give will help me to keep improving. I wouldn't be where I am without all the love that was poured into me by others. Thanks for believing in me and giving me a shot at living life the very best I possibly can!!!
