Olympic Skeleton Season
Donation protected
Hi,
My name is Andrew Blaser, and I am currently fundraising for my Olympic season in the sport of skeleton. Skeleton is a winter sport where athletes start with a sprint pushing a 70 lb. sled down a hill, dive on and race to the bottom of a mile long sheet of ice reaching speeds of up to 90mph! Once on the sled we manipulate our sled using our knees, shoulders and sometimes toes to gain faster and faster speeds.
Team USA is currently only able to fund our top 2 finishers from our team trials races. I finished in 3rd and I am currently trying to fund my season of travel and competitions while competing to represent Team USA at the Beijing Olympic Games, anything helps and is very appreciated.
The Intercontinental Cup makes stops in Whistler BC, Park City, Utah, Innsbruck, Austria, and Sigulda, Latvia all before our holiday break. After the holiday break we return back to Europe to race in Altenberg, Germany. These stops naturally come with a cost. Housing, rental cars, gym fees, equipment, training runs and travel all fall onto us as athletes. While pursuing this, we are also paying for our bills back home. I have estimated my season to cost around $12,000 in addition to any new equipment needed. Thank you for any support that you are able to give!
