From the Dust of Kwara Poly to the Streets of London
Some lives arrive quietly, fight loudly against impossible odds, and leave this world with thunder in the hearts of everyone who knew them.
Tobiloba Oyagunna was one of those rare souls.
A close friend of Tobi said, we walked the same dusty paths at Kwara State Polytechnic Public Administration, Class of 2015 brothers not just by friendship, but by struggle. Those were the analog days of Kwara Poly, when survival itself felt like an exam you had to pass daily. Studying wasn’t only about books it was about endurance, hunger, faith, and refusing to give up when life gave you every reason to.
Tobiloba carried burdens most people could never imagine.
He was not just an orphan , he was alone in the deepest sense. No inheritance. No safety net. No one standing behind him saying, You will be okay. Life seemed determined to humble him over and over again.
But Tobi never surrendered. While many complained, he persevered.
While others rested, he kept pushing.
He chose dignity over despair, effort over excuses, hope over defeat.
Against all odds, by God’s grace and stubborn resilience, he succeeded academically and chased dreams that once sounded impossible including the dream of reaching the United Kingdom. A dream that once felt like a distant joke in our school corridors became his reality.
Today, we mourn him with heavy hearts.
The same London that represented hope and achievement has now become the place where we say our final goodbye. The irony is painful. The loss is immeasurable.
But Tobi’s life was not defined by hardship it was defined by courage.
He showed us that background is not destiny, that resilience can rewrite history, and that even when life gives you nothing, you can still give the world your very best.

Every donation no matter how small is more than money.
It is a hand placed gently on the shoulder of a fighter who carried life’s weight alone for too long.
It is a final act of solidarity for a man who never stopped fighting.
