Hello tiki fans!
We wanted to give you an update around progress for reopening the bar.
As you may remember we closed the bar at the end of December for refurbishment and were planning on reopening in April. However, COVID scuppered our plans so sadly the bar hasn’t seen a customer in 6 months.
The refurbishment is 80% complete with a new bar installed, a food preparation and storage area in the basement and a completely new layout downstairs.
However, with no income for a six month period we have run out of money and will struggle to reopen for 4th July.
So we are having a fundraising effort to get the final capital needed to complete the refurbishment. To complicate matters, we are going to have to change the way the bar works to accommodate social distancing. Money is needed for the following:
· New Ice Machine
· New Glass wash
· New tables and chairs for the new downstairs areas
· New till system to allow table service
· New hand dryer and contactless tap
We have set up a gofundme page so if there is anything you can spare whether £2, £10 or £50 then every little helps. We are trying to raise £3000 for the final finishing touches and are hoping to reopen on Saturday 1st August.
We can’t wait to open and celebrate with our tiki family.
