Ollie’s Emergency Vet Costs

Donation protected
Hello all. I will do my best to explain.

We took our cat Ollie to the vet today due to the fact that he was behaving strangely. Shaking/trembling as well as crying out in pain. Upon our visit to the emergency animal hospital we discovered that Ollie’s red blood cell count was low, they believe this is being caused by kidney disease. As a result his internal body temp had become very low at 95 degrees (the low end for what’s normal for cats is 99). We were told that Ollie needed a blood transfusion immediately and that he was likely going into shock. However, Northwood Animal Hospital did not have cat blood so we were referred to Capital Vet Specialists ER. Upon arrive there they rushed him into their ICU. He’s now on a heating bad and hooked up to an IV they are trying to restore his fluids and stabilize him as well as perform tests to determine the underlying condition. We have been quoted 2700 for the next three nights. Hopefully hospitalization will not extend past the weekend but we are unsure. We can of course expect to spend even more once we have a treatment plan for the underlying cause of his condition which is the best case scenario, worst case being that we lose him. We would appreciate all the help that we can get. I have set the goal as 3000 simply because I was rounding up from what they’ve already quoted us for his initial care. If we get even 100$ I will be incredibly grateful.

Thanks all I will be providing updates as we learn more.
