Ollie Adcox - Navy Retirement Gift
Donation protected
Hello friends,
Instead of numerous smaller gifts for Ollie's retirement from the Navy, we thought it would be amazing to go in together on a group gift. We asked the Adcox's what they would like the most, and a family vacation/trip was their number one request. We would love to bless them with money for a family vacation as a part of Ollie’s retirement from the Navy. We are thankful for Ollie’s service to our country and the sacrifice the entire Adcox family has made as Ollie has served. Any amount will help provide a special trip for the Adcox family as they celebrate Ollie's retirement.
Here is a note from Christie, describing Ollie's career of service in the Navy:
“Ollie joined the Navy and left 2 weeks out of high school just 2 months after his 18th birthday. Has served for 24 years. Enlisted for the 1st 12 years as a nuclear engineer on submarines, and then completed his bachelor’s degree in nuclear engineering. He became a commissioned officer just months after promoting to Chief Petty Office. “This is a huge accomplishment as only 1 percent of enlisted sailors ever make that Rank!” After Ollie became a Commissioned Officer, he decided that the submarine life was not conducive to our large family and he wanted to be more present, so he gave back 2 rank/pay grades, so he could switch out of the nuclear submarine community and pivot over to the medical service corp as health physic’s officer. For the past 12 years, he has been serving in the Medical Service Corp Community as a Radiation Safety Officer. He completed his Master’s degree in Medical Physics. We have moved as a family, 10 times in the past 17 years, between all our kids, we have been part of 11 different grade schools.”
Thanks!
