On March 1st, 2016, my husband David McKenna and my daughter Olivia McKenna were in a horrible car accident. While making a left turn onto Blue Diamond, they were t-boned by a speeding vehicle. Our van is totalled, as you can see in the photo.

David has been discharged from the hospital and is home. He is beat up with lots of cuts and bruises and some burns from the airbags, but he is fine. No concussion.

Olivia's face has multiple lacerations that have been stitched up. She looks like she went a few rounds with Mike Tyson, and her face is bruised and swollen. She is highly sedated and is resting. She is ICU for the night because she has a concussion. Her CT Scan doesn't show bleeding in the brain, but they will take another one later to make sure nothing else develops. Her femur (hip) is broken and her pelvis is fractured. She will have surgery to put a plate in her hip, and will be on bed rest for a few weeks. She will be in the hospital for awhile.

Obviously this is going to take a financial toll on our family. We have insurance, but who knows how much (or how little) they will cover or if we will have to get a lawyer to fight them. We have no idea how we will replace our van so David can get back and forth to work, when he is better. Who knows how much Olivia's hospital bills will be, as well as how much we will need to spend on special equipment like wheelchairs, crutches, shower seats, etc. All of these things will add up. I normally am not one to ask for handouts for myself, but I have had a lot of people ask how they could help, and this would help. If you can donate a few bucks, we appreciate it.
