Olivia's Heart Journey

Donation protected

Last fall we were overjoyed to learn that we were having a baby girl, but we soon found out that her heart had not formed properly- she has a rare heart defect called Ebstein's Anomaly. We later learned that she had also developed something called fetal hydrops and that she would not likely survive to birth. We tried to prepare our hearts for what seemed like an unavoidable loss, but she and God had different plans. Two months later the hydrops was gone and cardiologists began to form a plan for her care! Olivia Grace was born on March 24, and at just eight days old she had her first open heart surgery. She spent a long, difficult three months in the ICU recovering, but on June 25 we finally brought our sweet daughter home. She will still need two more open heart surgeries; the next one will be sometime this fall. She is our little miracle, and has fought very hard to get this far. Please consider a donation to help us pay for her medical expenses and other unexpected costs of having a child with significant medical needs. You can read more about Olivia's journey so far and keep up with her medical updates at our caring bridge website www.caringbridge.org/visit/oliviagrace2
