Help Olivia Get to Prague

Donation protected
Olivia and I need your help. This single mama and hardworking talented ballerina are fundraising to get her to the New Prague Dance Festival at the end of June. Money raised will be going toward the plane ticket, the room and board, and the festival cost.

Olivia began dancing at the age of 6 and it has been her focus ever since. Recently, she danced the lead role of Juliet in the Romeo and Juliet Ballet at the Moss Center in Blacksburg and was simply breathtaking. I can't wait to see where the joy of dance takes her.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any support you can offer, whether it is a donation or a share. xoxo

Here are a few words Olivia wrote about what dance means to her:

Dance has been something that I’ve always had a passion for, but as the years have gone by, and as life has gotten tougher, it’s now more like a lifeline. It has become a necessity, a part of my soul. It is something I don’t wish to know life without. I wouldn’t be the strong young woman I am today without it. It has shaped everything from my mind to my muscles, helping me to see the light at the end of the tunnel. When it feels like I have nothing, dance is always there. When it feels like my world is crumbling, dance is always there. It has given me the strength to make it through obstacles in my life that felt nearly impossible. The movement just unleashes something like no other. It helps me let go of any feelings, of any bad days. When I dance I feel I’m my truest self and I feel completely safe. I think dance is the closest to pure magic you can get. I see dance almost like painting. Every movement a brushstroke. You put it all together, and it’s a work of art. So pure and untouchable. Dance has taught me discipline and has given me skills that I will use throughout my entire life. One valuable lesson I will always remember is how much you put in is how much you’ll get out, and that is true for all of life. I feel a great honor being a dancer and being given the ability to share my emotions and my passion with others. Being able to have them feel what I feel, sharing something so personal and being truly vulnerable, I haven’t experienced that in anything else and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. Dance is something that connects people. No matter your race, gender, sexuality, religion, etc, dance is a universal language. The world is going through a lot of scary changes right now, but I think as long as we stay connected and spread love, the outlook can be positive, and I think dance can majorly assist in that way and in these times. It is something I will never let go of, that will always be an outlet for me no matter what. I am truly blessed to have found something so special to be apart of my life. And the amazing, inspiring people I’ve met along the way will forever have an immensely positive impact on me. As life goes on, I’m so excited for the opportunities to express myself and share my love for this art form with as much of the world as I can.
