Olivia’s medical debt

On January 12, my whole world was flipped upside down after I lost consciousness while I was at work. After 6 hospital trips to different places across Michigan, I still had no answers but knew something was still wrong. I attempted to go back to work in February, where I was then transported via ambulance back to Sparrow Lansing. Sent home again with no answers, I attempted to go back again when I had to leave via ambulance for the third time. Due to my health, I was required to take another two months off and was not eligible for FMLA. I soon lost my job as well as my health insurance and have been unpaid since January.

Fast forward to April 7, I went back to a different job thinking it would be less stressful. It was shorter hours, less adrenaline, and less stress. On April 17, they put me on a Heart monitor after discovering a tear in my tricuspid valve. On April 22, I started to feel weird at work and lost consciousness again. I went home for the day where I thought I had lost consciousness but appeared to be seizure-like activity. I spent a week trying to get better off of work and home. I spent hours sleeping trying to heal. On April 28, I had 7 episodes back to back and ended in the ER again. Due to them not having the proper equipment to diagnose me, I was sent home and told to go to a different or bigger hospital. Thinking I was feeling okay, we headed home to get some sleep. Shortly after waking up, I went into another round of episodes. Another ambulance trip to the ER and I had been admitted on the 29th. After extensive testing and thousands of tests, I have officially been diagnosed with Non-epileptic Seizures due to anoxic events caused by issues in my heart. This means my blood pressure gets low and my pulse will get irregular, and because my brain doesn’t know how to handle it, I go into a seizure. As I can feel them coming on, I cannot control whether they happen or not, keeping me from working.

Trying to stay afloat, I have drained my savings and maxed out two credit cards. There is simply nothing left to pay my hefty medical bills that are looming over me. Due to my outstanding balance, I soon will be unable to see primary care. This is to hopefully pay my balance down enough to see my doctors and get back to work. Anything helps.
