Olivia’s Fight Against Brain Tumor

Donation protected
Our daughter Olivia was a healthy little girl, and within just 8 weeks our lives changed completely.

On 11 February, Olivia was diagnosed with a mass in her brain. In a very short time, she developed right-sided paralysis and struggled with walking, speech, memory, and coordination in her right hand.

One month later, after her biopsy, we were told it was one of the most devastating brain tumours a child can face.

She was diagnosed with a very rare, aggressive, Grade 4 brain tumour called diffuse midline glioma (DMG), H3K27-altered ezhip, bithalamic. Because of its location, the tumour is inoperable. There is currently no cure for these tumours, and sadly children diagnosed with this type of tumour often face a very poor prognosis, with survival often measured in months rather than years.

Olivia is now undergoing radiotherapy and chemotherapy.

Our whole world has been turned upside down. Instead of normal family life, we are now living around hospital appointments, daily treatment, fear, exhaustion, and uncertainty.

Despite everything, Olivia is working hard every single day. She takes her medication, goes through daily radiotherapy, and never complains about her diet, even though she misses her favourite foods. She has faced all of this with remarkable strength and courage.

We bought our house last year, and although it still needed renovation, Olivia’s condition made some of that work urgently necessary. We had to create a safe downstairs room for her because she can no longer manage the stairs properly, and we also had to make sure we had a functioning kitchen and bathroom so we could care for her safely at home.

With the huge help of our kind friends, family, Olivia’s school, the council, and charities, we were able to get through some of the hardest first steps, and we are deeply grateful for every bit of support we have received so far.

At the moment, there is no trial available for Olivia in the UK. We want to raise funds in case a future trial, immunotherapy, or other treatment option becomes available, which may mean travelling abroad at short notice.

The money raised will help with hospital travel, special diet and supportive care costs, urgent changes at home to make it safe and suitable for Olivia’s care, day-to-day living expenses, lost income while we care for Olivia, and the chance to spend precious time together as a family while we continue fighting for her.

We know the road ahead is incredibly hard, but Olivia is deeply loved, and we want to do everything in our power for her.

Any donation or share would mean more to us than words can say. Thank you for standing with Olivia and our family.
