Olivia is in her third year of a 4-year Diagnostic Medical Sonography program at Seattle University. Her tuition so far was covered by grants, loans, and scholarships. She is doing great in the program, works very hard, and is so excited that labs and preparation for clinicals have finally begun!

She worked extra hard all year to save up for Seattle rent —only to learn that for the 2025-2026 academic year a significant amount of her grants have fallen prey to funding cuts and won't be restored. This puts her in a real bind as all her savings are not enough to cover rent and the new tuition shortfall. Olivia and her family's investments into the first two years of this program have been considerable, trusting that her path was clear.

Given the selectiveness and limited spaces in such programs, quitting is not an option - and forward is the only direction.

Determined as ever, Olivia had a busy, but great Fall quarter. Since her seasonal job ended in December, she is once again on the hunt for jobs near campus that she can reach on foot and incorporate into her schedule of classes. Thanks to your donations, she remains hopeful!
