September 21st is a special day I call my birthday. A time to celebrate as I become a little older and a little wiser. Also a day to reflect back and realize how grateful I am.
I have a tradition of giving instead of receiving on my special day where I ask my friends to donate a small amount to my Go Fund me page and at the end of the month, I take the full amount and donate to a local charity.
In the last five years we have been able to raise and donate $28,385.00 to charities such as: Incubate Institute, Breakfast with Santa, EDEN Food for Change, The Mississauga Food Bank, a medical mission for the Philippines along with building a home for a family in Mexico.
I ask for your help in a small donation so that collectively we can raise another $5,000.00 and keep this tradition alive especially in the most unpredictable time of our lives.
Instead of a “Happy Birthday” to me, let’s help and celebrate the people that are in need in our very own backyards.
