Thank you for taking the time to read about my story. My name is Olivia Reed. I am a 15 year old freshman in highschool.
I am looking for help to pay my way to participate in a goodwill softball program with Australian teams over a two week period in the summer of 2017. Girls from my club team, Texas Christian Atheletes will travel to Australia to participate in tournament and exhibition games with local teams there. Some of the goals for these games will be:
· To bring goodwill ambassadorship and camaraderie among all players from both countries.
· To help showcase and promote the sport by attracting local interest among spectators, especially younger girls, to get involved in softball.
· To give the opportunity for our athletes to share their knowledge of the sport they love with those of a different culture who have may have different areas of strengths.
· To exchange of culture and ideas leading to increased understanding of the world for those involved.
The money I am asking for will cover the airfare, hotels, transportation, local activities, and partial meals for a two week schedule in addition to all the tournament fees. Your donation would be tax deductible since my club is a non profit organization.
Since the trip will take place in June of 2017, I am needing to raise funds and pay my portion by the end of April.
I have been playing softball since I was 8 and plan to continue through college. Softball has been a passion of mine since I first learned to throw and hit a ball, so you might imagine what an incredible opportunity to play at an international level this would be for me. Beyond just the experience playing for an American team in another country, the personal opportunity to experience another culture is invaluable to my personal growth and perspective of the world. I have always dreamed of international travel and having the opportunity to do that at this time in my life is beyond price.
I would be extremely grateful for any help in reaching this financial goal in order to promote my sport and increase my personal growth. Although I may never meet with some of those that help me achieve this dream, please believe that each and every one of you will have my eternal gratitude in helping me on my journey.
