Hello All,

All people deserve wellness, it is everyone’s divine right. And I aim to provide Reiki and many other alternative healing modalities to those who need it the most.
 
Last, October when I walked away from my Creative Editor position in the crazy world of fashion to make the leap into becoming a full-time healer, entrepreneur and conduit for love, compassion and balance… Because over the last 10 years I had been steadily and consistently healing my own personal traumas, wounds, schemas and no-longer serving me patterns and knew it was time to offer healing to others like myself. Since then I have become certified in Reiki and have been working with clients for some time now. In addition, I have become certified in the practice of Inuit of Love and a mind/body/spirit alignment coach. I have also launched my own business, Uma Gaia, a haven for alignment (umagaia.org ) “Uma” refers to the Goddess of Light in Sanskrit, and “Gaia” the Greek Goddess who created the ocean, earth and the sky. Uma Gaia’s long-term goal is a retreat center that focuses on continuously underserved communities in dire need of this kind of support and guidance. (at-risk youth, battered families, ex-military and ex-convicts) It is so important to bring light, love and awareness to communities like these that don’t always get the attention they deserve and that is divinely theirs.

Beyond my one-on-one student sessions, I have collaborated with a wellness pop-up this Summer, where I brought corporate wellness to different industry teams via a guided meditations and throughout the pop-up I led daily workshops centered around different wellness topics. In July, I collaborated with a women’s organization called Right on Time and offered a workshop on The Power of Compassion, which showed me just how much this kind of work is needed today in our world.  And most recently, in August, I became the resident healer at SHAKTIBARRE (www.shaktibarre.com ) a new social yoga/barre, café, education, wellness and activist center in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. I aligned with SHAKTIBARRE specifically since at the foundation of the business model is all about bringing mind/body and spirit awareness and wellness to communities that are underserved, thus SHAKTIBARRE is one of the only sliding scale strategy based centers in NYC. Another reason why I align with SHAKTIBARRE and am excited to work with them is because of their non-profit background, Corinne one of the founders also runs Yo-Girls (yogirlsprogram.org ) a non-profit that brings yoga and mindful literacy to girls in need and I will be able to work with this group of teens in the upcoming Spring.

I believe that it is everyone’s divine and social right to experiences these services and live a loving, compassionate and joyous life – it’s not just for the people who are exposed to it or can afford it.

I am asking for your help to continue growing Uma Gaia, and the vision to help people who are in dire need of support and guidance. I am looking to raise $22,000 to help cover the below costs:

1. Master Teacher Level Reiki Certification which will put me in the position to not only heal but continue to teach/initiate/certify others that are interested in this kind of healing work.

2. Level 3/4 -Intuit of Love Certification, which will allow me to offer my clients/workshop attendees an even fuller healing experience, that will transform their lives through the power of sound, light and quartz crystal, one of the most powerful organic elements that our earth creates.
