More information about Olivia Newton-John Cancer Research Institute: The Olivia Newton-John Cancer Research Institute (ONJCRI) is embedded within the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness & Research Centre which is located in the Austin Hospital campus. Our mission is to discover and develop breakthrough therapies to help people live better with cancer and defeat it. Our dedicated researchers and clinicians undertake research to develop personalised cancer medicine and discover, develop and perform clinical trials with breakthrough cancer therapies.These include immunotherapies, antibodies and molecular targeted therapeutics. Our laboratories are located across from patient wards to empower our teams of laboratory researchers and clinicians to collaborate for the benefit of patients with cancer through clinical trial. Our research programs aim to improve patient health outcomes across a broad spectrum of cancer types including brain, lung, stomach, bowel, melanoma, breast, head and neck, and prostate.We work in close partnership with Austin Health, which delivers cancer services through the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness & Research Centre to a population of 1.4 million Australians. Many of our researchers hold joint appointments with Austin Health as leading clinicians. This enables patients to directly benefit from research advancements as we translate discoveries from the laboratory bench to the patient bed and back again.ONJCRI is the successor to the global Ludwig Cancer Research organisation who hold an impressive quarter century track record of collaborative clinical research programs with Austin Health. ONJCRI will build on Ludwig’s strong foundation and legacy and continue to benefit from their ongoing support.
