There is a tree that stands on the beach of Penoyner Park south of the restrooms. This tree has inadvertently become a memorial to Olivia. After her death, people began to bring flowers to the beach and they were gathered together at the base of the tree and today people still continue to do so. The gifts and flowers will fade with the years, but we hope to never have her legacy fade.
It’s our hope to keep her memory alive through the scholarship fund by placing a donated rock next to the tree with a plaque that invites people to donate to the scholarship fund set up through the Education Foundation of Kenosha. It is our greatest desire that something positive and meaningful come out of this tragedy.
