Hi, I am fundraising for my friend Olivia in Uganda. Here in her own words is her story: Hello everyone. My name is Olivia, I am from Uganda. At age eight, I was in a bus accident that led to the amputation of both of my arms, as well as serious cranial and facial injuries. I was given then a very primitive prosthetic for one arm. It is now far too small and causes me much pain. But I need it for my art and some every day tasks. I try to make a living by drawing art and selling it online, but it is not even enough to feed me. You can watch me draw on TikTok (olishen1). I really need two new arm prostheses that will allow me to function more independently and not have to rely on the generosity of others in doing every day basic things. Uganda is a very poor country and it provides me with no support. Many people like me are beggars on the street. I try hard not to have to do that.

Very recently I have been made an offer to study at a university here in Uganda. For me to be able to do this, I will need my new prosthetics, as well as money to pay my university fees, rent, food etc. A university degree will allow me to be more independent and break free from the plight of destitute disabled people in Uganda. Arm prostheses are very expensive. University is too. I will be very grateful for your generous support. I thank you so much and may God bless you for supporting me.
