Hi, my name is Athena and in September I am donating half of my liver to my older sister, Olivia. She has been dealing with the pains of liver failure for almost two years now. We finally have everything set in motion for a surgery. I will be out of work for over two months and my sister hasn’t been able to work since she became ill two years ago. While we are lucky enough to have the UCSF financial team taking good care of us, we still will need help during our recovery time and for follow up hospital visits after the surgery. We just lost our grandma Carolyn earlier this month so most of her moms savings has gone to the funeral expenses. We are very grateful to have family to be here for us and take care of us during our recovery time. We will also be starting a meal train when the surgery gets closer, so any form of support is greatly appreciated. Thank you friends and family.
