It's 1994... Bill Clinton is President, gas is $1.11, The Lion King came out in theaters, and Olivet Band got new Marching Band Uniforms.
Fast forward to 2015... Barack Obama is President, gas is $2.34, and Disney's “Frozen” is still going strong. Olivet Band is wearing the same uniforms that are 21 years old. Although they may still look okay, they are very worn and past their prime. It is a very common occurrence for zippers to break, buttons to fall off and hats to be mis-shapened with missing parts and pieces. The Olivet Band has grown over the past 21 years from 19 students to 110, and has done very well at festivals and competitions. New uniforms will help enhance their visual effect score at competitions.
The Band Boosters and Mr. and Mrs. Funk have met and discussed this in great depth. With a design that is an original creation especially for Olivet, we feel the time is now to take this giant leap forward.
A full Marching Band uniform costs $375. With the size of the band now and expected in the near future we need to purchase 120 uniforms. The Band Boosters have already designated 10% of the funds needed. We are in need of additional sponsors to help with our uniform project. We must have our order placed by the end of April in order to have them in time for the fall 2015 Marching Season. We need your help !!
We have broken down the cost of the uniform for sponsorship options:
A donation of your choosing ____________
$375 to sponsor an entire uniform -
Marching Coat, Pants, Hat and Plume
$215 to sponsor a Marching Coat
$100 to sponsor a pair of Marching Bib Pants
$ 40 to sponsor a Marching Hat
$ 20 to sponsor a Marching Plume
No donation is too small! Even $1 will help us to reach our goal!
If you have ever enjoyed a performance by one of the Olivet Bands, we hope you will take a minute to help us achieve our fundraising goal, and help the next generation of band students have the same opportunities for success. Donors will be recognized with a permanent plaque hanging in the school with the names of all who helped us reach our goal.
