My name is Olivia and I am just two years old. Let me explain to you the bond that I have with my Uncle Sacki. After I was born, he would always come home after work or school to play with me. We would have dinner together almost every evening. For some reason, I always ate his food and would always fight everyone else when they told me to eat. I guess cause he makes food look better. Whenever I get a new toy, he would always play with me. Pick me up and fly me around. When I'm really good, he would take me to the store with him and I almost always come back with a new toy (even though mommy says not to get me anything) . But things changed a few months ago.
In the middle of the night, my Uncle went to the ER, complaining about breathing problems. After two weeks, he was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease, stage 5 renal failure. This meant his kidneys have failed and no longer worked anymore. He would be doing dialysis for the rest of his life. During the process, he's had about 8 surgeries. One almost put him into cardiac arrest, but my Uncle pulled through. Months later, dialysis has become his norm, but I don't see much of my Uncle. After dialysis, he's extremely tired and sometimes goes straight to bed. He doesn't play with me as much anymore. And everyone keeps telling me to stop jumping on him. They say he isn't allowed to hold me and fly me around anymore. Because of some catheter. It sucks.
What sucks even more is that he's had to miss work so many times. And he isn't even a permanent employee. When he misses work, he misses out on a day's pay. The hospital bills are racking up...and so is the rest of his grownup bills. And as tired as he is, he ALWAYS manages to go into work the next day. Doctors say to take it easy, but I don't see my Uncle taking it easy. I think that's what "hard worker" means.
The only way life would get better and for me to have some of my Uncle back, is for him to get a new kidney. And the most amazing person I know has signed up to give up one of her's...my mommy! If by miracle this surgery happens, my Uncle is going to be out of work for awhile to recover. Unfortunately, bills would still be racking up and he won't be able to pay these for being out. This is where I ask for your help. Please. Any monetary donation will help! He's one of my favorite uncles. I need him to fly me around again.
