Oliver's University Fund

TL;DR: One of the students I’ve supported for years, Oliver, just earned a scholarship to Uganda’s top university — but she needs help with accommodation, food, and essentials to take up her place. Please help if you can!
In 2016, I started a charitable project after helping build a school in rural Uganda. It's not a registered charity..that would restrict how I help, but something I’ve funded myself, with the support of a few wonderful friends over the years.
Since 2016, I’ve paid private school fees for four children and supported small business ventures for them and others. One of those children is Oliver.
I met Oliver in my very first class. She was living with her grandmother in extremely poor conditions, after being abandoned by her parents. Despite everything, she stood out: warm, curious, bright & the kind of person you know has potential, if only she’s given a chance.
Over these last years, I’ve supported her through private secondary school, visited her regularly, spoken with her teachers, and read every report card. They all say the same thing: this is a hardworking, exceptional young woman.
Earlier this year, Oliver graduated high school and was awarded a full scholarship to Makerere University - Uganda’s most prestigious university - for being among the top seven academic performers in her district. Her tuition fees are covered. But now she needs to move to Kampala, and she’ll need help with:
Accommodation
Food and daily expenses
Study materials and transport
With the other students I support still chasing their dreams & my wife stopping work after her stroker, we're stretched financially. I want so much for Oliver to take up this opportunity she’s worked incredibly hard for. If you can spare anything at all it will go directly to helping her thrive in this next chapter.
