Help Oliver regain independence and freedom of the beach

I am very thankful in advance for your time reading Olivers’ Gofundme.

A lot of you may remember we’ve been here before, approximately 2 1/2 years ago, asking for help for which we are forever thankful. Since then, we’ve privately funded a house rebuild to accommodate Olivers’ needs with limited grants, an improved wheelchair beyond the NHS offerings, a wheeled power aid and private physiotherapy for which the NHS doesn’t offer.

This time, we are asking for help funding a power aid to allow Oliver to independently access the beach and rougher terrain that wheeled power aids find impossible.

To those who may not know, Oliver suffered a spontaneous internal bleed on the 1st December 2022 which compressed and damaged his spinal cord resulting in him becoming T3 paraplegic (incomplete). No cause for the bleed was ever found.

Oliver is mentally the strongest person I’ve ever known and at 11 years old, puts up with hardships his peers will thankfully never know or understand.

However, he is starting to become more aware of his physical limitations and finds it hard being left behind.

We hope to fund a tracked wheelchair attachment to allow him to free roam beaches later in the year (and to save our backs!).

We have chosen the Freedom Trax Pro (picture attached) or the Freedom Trax Extreme, which will be imported from the United States. Oliver hopes to turn himself into a little tank!

Any funds raised above the target would be invested into other aspects of his care, including privately funded physiotherapy.
