Oliver was diagnosed with level 3 autism last August. He is non-verbal. Since being diagnosed we haven’t received much support and there is currently a 1-2 year waiting list for occupational and speech & language therapy in my area, meaning I’m taking things into my own hands. I have given up my job as a HCA and my dream career as a paramedic in order to prioritise Oliver’s needs and provide him with the full time care that he needs. An AAC device is a portable device which would massively help Oliver to communicate with me and others on a daily basis, we are currently using visuals but it is tough as these aren’t as durable or as easily accessible when we are out and about. any donation would be greatly appreciated as it’s a step closer to getting our hands on one of these life changing devices which unfortunately are just so expensive
