Dear Friends, Family, and Kindhearted Strangers,

I am writing this with a heavy heart on behalf of my niece and her partner Connor, a truly amazing mother and father who have been handed challenges no parents should ever face. Caroline is the kind of mom who gives her entire heart to her boys, and now, they need her more than ever.

Six months ago, my niece’s world changed forever when her oldest son, her sweet 5-year-old boy, was diagnosed with Becker muscular dystrophy. This rare condition causes muscle weakness and will likely mean he’ll need a wheelchair by his teenage years. She has spent every moment since then learning how to care for him and making sure he has the best possible life.

But just as she was finding her footing, life threw her another devastating blow. Her youngest son, a bright and loving 3-year-old, was recently diagnosed with acute B-cell ALL leukemia, a rare and aggressive form of childhood cancer.

I can’t begin to imagine how she manages to stay so strong, but she does, because her boys need her to. She’s a stay-at-home mom who has always given everything to her family. Now, she will be traveling an hour each way to the Ronald McDonald House twice a week for her youngest son’s treatments, while also caring for her 5-year-old’s growing needs at home. It’s overwhelming for anyone to comprehend.

She is carrying a weight no one should have to bear, but she refuses to give up. Her focus is on her boys, giving them love, comfort, and care, no matter how exhausted she feels. But the reality is, she needs help. Even though their father, Connor works hard to provide for their family at his full time job, it is becoming increasingly hard to keep up with all of the bills. It just isn’t enough anymore. And they need some extra help.

That’s why I am asking for your support. The financial strain of medical bills, travel expenses, and daily necessities is immense. As her uncle, I’ve watched her put on a brave face, but I know how much she is struggling. She would never ask for help herself, so I am asking for her.

Every little bit, whether it’s a donation, a share, or a prayer, means the world to her and her family. It’s a way to show her that she doesn’t have to walk this path alone and that there are people out there who care.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read this and for any support you can give. My niece is the strongest, most loving mother I know, and with your help, we can lighten her load and give her the strength she needs to keep fighting for her boys.

Anything will help, a dollar, a share. Anything that gets the word out.
