Hi, my name is David and I'm Olive's dad. She is a 3 year-old Belgian Malinois. I adopted her from my cousin Ryan a year ago. Her calm, peaceful presence has been a source of joy for anyone she's met. She went to the vet on Thursday when she began to have diarrhea. They initially treated her for pancreatitis but that testing came back negative. Her lymphs are abnormally swollen, so they suspected lymphoma - that test has also come back negative. She's currently being treated at the ER for "every treatable disease" - on steroids, antibiotics, anti diarrheal, gastro protectants, vitamin supplementation, prokinectics, anti nausea, and appetite stimulation. As of Tuesday (6/13) her body has not responded to any of these treatments, diarrhea has continued and is still has not eaten willingly. We're continuing to explore all options. I regret not having applied for insurance in time to cover this and the bills have been exhausting. I've received some family support but am still in serious debt and asking for any help to take some pressure off the financial end of this as we move forward. As the options dwindle, I am prepared to confront the reality that she may need to be put down. But I don't want to make this decision because of finances.
