Olive Climbs Snowdon

Hi I am Olive.

I am a 2 year old cockapoo who lives in Cornwall. I have been with my Mum since I was 6 months old.

When I was born, I was taken to the vets for a health check with my blood brothers and sisters. The vet said we weren’t ’normal’ puppies. We were all born with a defect. Some of us were just deaf and others just blind. Me? I was both. It was discussed if I should be put to sleep due to not being able to be sold and what quality of life I would have. Lucky for me, a rescue came along and decided to give me a chance.

I was then fostered which is where I met my Mum. Now, in all honesty you know this isn’t me writing this right? I’m a dog plus I am blind. So yes, it’s my Mum writing this so I will let her take over and tell you the rest!

Hi I am Amy (Olives Mum). When I first saw Olive I knew that I was not going home without her. I fell in love with her instantly! I have never ever seen such a happy animal! Olive is amazing in every way. She is always so happy. Yes, she has accidents where she runs in to things that make my heart drop. Then you see her shake it off and carry on in her happy little world. She is not phased by anything!

Olive has the biggest heart and loves everyone she meets. Not a bad bone in her body and I am so unbelievably lucky she was given a chance to live and she came into my life.

To be able to give other dogs like her a chance in life, we need to support the rescue centres and the foster pawrents that help for this to happen. Olive could have been put to sleep at first instance of her disability and never had this chance of living a life full of love and living a life giving nothing but love. That is exactly what she does.

What better way to raise money for this incredible cause than proving, no matter what life throws at you, you can climb any mountain.

This is exactly what myself and Olive are going to do!

Olive will be climbing Snowdon in June to raise money for her rescue charity Blind Dog Rescue Uk. As far as we know Olive will be the first Deaf & Blind dog to have done this.

We know times are hard for many people at the moment and even if we could raise our target it would still go so far for the animals and we can all but try. So if you would like to kindly donate as much or as little as you can to this cause and Olives big adventure, it would really make such a difference and be so gratefully received.
