Our friend, Jessica, is a single mom of four beautiful girls who has been kindly taken in by her parents for the past three years. As they seek to get on their feet, God opened the door for them to purchase a home last month (very cool story!) that is not too far from her parents. While she has money set aside to pay for month-to-month expenses and her education (she's currently working towards her teacher's licensure), etc., it is nowhere near enough to get the house ready for them to move into later this summer.
From her best guess and research, it will likely take $5,000 to fix up the house.
That includes paint, refinishing hardwood floors, replacing the old dim light fixtures, cleaning air ducts from all the cat hair they are allergic to, door locks, and a few other little things here and there.
In addition to the $5,000, it will likely take another $3,000 to get some furniture and a whole slew of things that they will need and no longer have. Estimates are based off of finding used furniture on Facebook or someplace similar. Jessica will continue to do her best to find deals and may be able to get a few things from people, but she also knows that she has not thought of or even know everything that they will need to replace.
Thank you for considering how you might be apart of helping the Olingers fix up their house. They would not be where they are without the Lord's help and your prayers and support. They are humbled by and grateful for you.
