Help Fight Wegener’s Disease for Olga Haro
Please help me, help my family.
In 2009, Olga Haro seemed like any other ordinary loving wife, and mother to a family of four children residing in the small town of Michigan City, IN. Life for her and her family took a drastic change when in this same year she was first diagnosed with Wegener’s disease, also known as Granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA).
Granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA), previously known as Wegener's granulomatosis (WG), is a systemic disorder that involves both granulomatosis and polyangiitis. It is a form of vasculitis (inflammation of blood vessels) that affects small and medium-size vessels in many organs. Damage to the lungs and kidneys can be fatal. It requires long-term immunosuppression. Given the severity of the disease and the rareness (affects only about 500 each year) getting an initial and accurate diagnose was a challenge all on its own. However, despite all the tribulation and the seriousness of her new diagnosis, Olga has always shown her resilience and inner fighting warrior. She has been fighting GPA ever since!
On March 29, 2017, Olga suffered yet another setback due to GPA complications. She was once again admitted into The University Of Chicago Medical Center, where she currently remains undergoing treatment. She was previously heavily sedated in an induced coma while her body healed properly, and her doctors were able to come up with a new course of treatment. Currently, she remains in the hospital. Doctors are hopeful that her lungs will heal during this time, and that they can determine a new course of treatment to continue her fight against GPA.
During these difficult times, the Haro family would be extremely grateful for any kind of donation. But, more importantly for each and everyone’s prayers. The Haro family continues to be by her side everyday, and are hopeful she will soon start to show significant progress.
All funds will go towards Olga's current treatment, hospitalization, and ongoing medical bills from her current stay. She has now been out of work for several weeks, and therefore family and friends are extremely grateful and forever in gratitude for any generosity possible. Thank you all, and God Bless.
