Olga & Penny's ER visits

Donation protected
TL;DR: Tiny Cat Rescue in NYC is in dire need of funds due to higher than expected Vet ER/ICU bills.

Olga and her brother Penny were kittens rescued in Jackson Heights, Queens, NYC. Momma Frieda had a litter of 3: Olga, Penny & Mafalda; they were rescued behind an apartment building on the first rainy day of the Fall and set up in a temporary feral maternity ward. By the time they were handed to us here at the Gargoyle Catterie, the temperature had started to drop drastically, and 2 of the 3 babies were looking a bit rough. Straight off the bat, on day one, we noted something was wrong with Penny. He went to Westbury Animal Hospital in Long Island, where after a complete check-up, he was diagnosed with congenital cardiac issues. Penny made it for five days in the ICU, then passed away. Olga was also a little bit off, but not the same way. She just wasn't a good do'er, had non-stop diarrhea, and nothing we tried via our vet made it go away; her mother's care, along with ours, wasn't enough, and she began to decline. She was unable to retain nutrition or stay hydrated due to diarrhea. We took her to AMC in Manhattan; she was admitted as hypothermic and anemic, & stayed under intensive care for seven days. She passed late in the night in mid-October. We are devastated and broke. The hospital bills are insane, had to borrow a relative's credit card to pay for them. Trying to pay them back asap, & recoup at least some of the cost so we can keep helping other cats in need.
