Hello my name is Shannon and I am a long time friend of Olesha Karringten. I have started this go fund me to help Olesha fight cancer and keep life stable for her family.
In April 2025, her whole world changed when she was diagnosed with multifocal grade 3 breast cancer.
Since then, she has been in the middle of an intense journey quietly and stoically. She is still undergoing chemotherapy and will need to have both breasts removed once chemo is complete.
The treatments have been exhausting physically and emotionally for her. There are days she can’t see her kids. Her family and friends see that she is trying her best to stay positive, to be present for her kids, and to hold onto hope that she will get better soon.
Anyone that knows Olesha knows that she puts her heart and soul into everything she does. She is a creative entrepreneur that has been a pillar in the Vancouver entertainment scene for many years. Unfortunately she has been unable to work at all, or enjoy any of her many hobbies. Her partner has not been able to work consistently due to having to physically care for Olesha and their children. The financial strain on her household has become overwhelming.
While her hormone therapy is thankfully covered by the government, so many other expenses aren’t — and that’s where she really needs our help.
Your support will help her:
• Cover day-to-day living costs while she’s in treatment
• Keep her kids’ lives as normal and stable as possible
• Manage household bills and basic needs while her partner takes time off work to care for her
• Prepare for the long recovery period after her upcoming surgery
Cancer doesn’t just take over your body — it shakes your entire life. But she is so determined to fight through this and heal!
If you’re able to donate, please know it will mean the world to her.
Even if you can’t contribute financially, sharing this page or sending love and encouragement helps more than you know.
Thank you for taking the time to read about her story with cancer, for caring, and for helping her family hold onto some sense of normal in the middle of all this.
With love and gratitude,
Shannon, Olesha and family
