On the 1st August, Oldham St Annes U15s teams are combining together with their friends & families to complete a monumental challenge, pushing ex local amateur Rugby league player Andy Walker MBE (Wack) who is paralysed from the neck down following a tragic accident, up Mount Snowdon. This challenge has never been done before for lads of this age group and will be completed to raise funds for their Tour to France next year.
Andys accident happened 20 years ago following a spinal cord injury diving into the sea in India. A specially adapted chair is being made for this event to enable the team to carry Andy up the highest mountain in England & Wales. The challenge will be physically & mentally challenging for all involved, but the feeling of achievement at the top will be fantastic.
The aim is to raise as much funds as possible to enable the teams to take part in a once in a lifetime U16s Rugby Tour to France next year. The tour will be self funded, and will be a great opportunity for the boys to grow & develop in confidence, teamwork on & off the pitch.
Any sponsorship no matter how small is greatly appreciated by the team, coaches & families of the boys.
Thank you for your fantastic support!!
