A New team of Old men trying to make a difference.
Trying to make a difference to our own lives, for some - it’s rediscovering football, fitness, confidence , friends. It’s also making a difference to others in raising funds for Cancer Charities.
As a team of older men the relevance and effect cancer has had on our lives directly, and of the wider community we belong too is ever present and lasting.
Also as new team in the current climate it’s difficult to get set up and provide all the equipment necessary without being a burden and asking for sponsorship from local businesses trying to get by themselves
So as a team we have set ourselves the challange of running the distance of our Club at Chesterton to the Camp Nou home of the great Barcelona. A total of 1003 miles. We will complete this task during the duration of the second lockdown commencing Thursday 5th Nov to 2nd Dec. And if that wasn’t enough once we reach our goal of Camp Nou we shall finish with the big finale. A 24 hour team relay
With our sponsorship goal we are hoping we can split the proceeds towards the club for a kit. But most importantly abs substantially we will be supporting Cancer research , MacMillan Cancer and Sobell House.
We would welcome all support in any shape or form and hope you will join us on our journey as we test and push these old bones as far as we can!
We hope you can get behind and help raise funds for our chosen charities and also there’s something special about wearing a kit provided for a local community team , contributed to and supplied by that very local community it’s from. We will not have a normal sponsor , we will be sporting Sobell House for further awareness and Support of our local choice of charity
Thanks for taking the time to read and thank you for your support - Everyone at Chesterton Veterans Football Club
