My name is Chloe Bowen, and I’m currently completing my film degree, raising funds for my graduation short film, Old Flame. I am directing, writing, and producing the project, which has been developed from the ground up as the culmination of my studies and creative practice.

This film is important to me because it represents both my growth as a filmmaker and the kind of stories I want to tell. Old Flame is designed to be first and foremost entertaining, using tension, atmosphere, and unexpected plot twists to engage audiences. By blending psychological thriller and horror elements with the surface intimacy of a romantic getaway, the film gradually shifts tone as the truth behind the relationship is revealed. At its core, the story follows a female protagonist who finds strength while escaping a manipulative relationship, aiming to subvert the traditional victim trope and instead portray empowerment through intelligence, survival, and control.

The funds raised will go directly into the production of the film, covering essential costs such as paying actors, locations hire, production design, costumes, sound, and post-production. Supporting this project means supporting my transition from film student to emerging filmmaker, with a polished film I can proudly take into the industry.
