Three weeks ago, after being admitted to the hospital Ruth and her family were told her lung cancer had spread to other vital organs and was actively growing. Unfortunately her cancer is terminal, treatment was no longer an option because it would cause more agony during her weakened state and shorten her life span. Due to these circumstances Ruth decided not to do the treatment and instead chose to spend time at home with family. Although the doctors can not accurately predict how much time she has left, they have estimated 2 months. During the last week her health has rapidly deteriorated, as a result hospice nurses believe she may only have days left.Throughout all of this, Ruth has continued to fight and stay positive. As you all know, life does not stop when you become ill, fortunately friends and family have been able to handle all her needs and necessities to this point. Unfortunately, there was no preparation made for what is ultimately to come. Therefore, we are creating this page so Ruth may have the proper home going she deserves.
Update: On April 13th, 2017 Ola Ruth made her transition to heaven. Although we mourn, she is finally pain free and at peace.
We appreciate all the help and support and for those who are unable to donate, your prayers are equally valuable.
