Olakauatu family of 5
Donation protected
Aloha from Maui!
My name is Kui Totau and together with other families from Maui, am asking for your help for my cousin ‘Ofa Olakauatu who has literally lost everything due to the Lahaina Fire Tragedy.
’Ofa is the main provider for her family of 7 because her husband Haumole has mobility disability. The Olakauatus has 5 kids, Simione (16), Tu’a (14), Regina (12), Marist (9) and Polotu (8) all born and raised in Lahaina and are very grateful that they were finally reunited as a whole family yesterday evening.
’Ofa is so thankful that she was able to get off work early on the day the fire happened so that she can be at home. Being home on this day and that time really spared the lives of her children and her husband. Fire approached so fast that her priority was to gather everyone and her box of important documents (passports, birth certificates, ID) and the clothes they had on their back and fled for safety.
It will take time to get through this, it will take time to build up, it will take time to explain it to the kids but she has all the time to hug her babies. The fire may have taken all of their belongings but one thing for sure, it did not take any of her family nor their faith.
Your donation is appreciated, if unable, a prayer is sufficient. Deep love and respect to all the other families that have lost loved ones and their homes, may God’s grace and blessings continue to be with us all. All funds will go directly to the Olakauatu’s to help build up their lives. Mahalo
