Olaf's Recovery Fund: Sacrifices Made for Love

Donation protected
These last 48 hours have been exhausting.. Yesterday evening me and Olaf were at our our friends for movie night. While there, he vomited 2 times, the first being his dinner. From then on he was acting quite irregular, and kept wanting to go outside over and over to go potty, of which nothing came out. I didn’t get much of any sleep as we stepped outside atleast 20 times throughout the night because he would keep getting up to try going potty. I thought there must be a blockage. All through the day we rested and he still couldn’t urinate or defecate. He was getting weaker and weaker and wouldn’t eat at all but was drinking a little, which at the time I didn’t realize was the last thing he needed. That evening 1/21/25 I took him to Emergency pet hospital of Craven Cart-Carteret in Havelock Nc where Doctor Stephanie Henry performed an exam and X rays and the first procedure, He had a few stones in his bladder one of which tried coming out then got lodged in his urinary tract, his bladder was inflamed and he was very uncomfortable. They then talked about procedures and solutions, worst case surgery 3500-4100$ estimated. After trying to dislodge the main stone to no avail, they then drained the bladder for relief and gave him IV. During this I broke down for a few minutes realizing the seriousness of the situation. The doctor and staff fell in love with Olaf, and seen his is NOT any ordinary dog, he is utterly special unique and amazing, the sweetest boy , was their Own Words. They strived for a better solution to help us without so much major cost. After 1 important phone call the doctor made, we were then scheduled at PetDocks veterinary hospital in Morehead City Nc clinic (1 hour from me) at 8:30 am for drop of, and a special doctor Dr. Sean Greenlaw that specializes in surgery, made a opening in his day to operate on Olaf. This was amazing news to hear. I was mentally preparing to sell off my precious home/boat for a quick insanely low price to someone just to cover the original quotes. Ide be happier with nothing but Olaf then my dream I made happen, but with no Olaf. I would live in a tent if I had to just to be able to have him at my side. Although that’s technically just an example and I know I have caring loving people in my life that wouldn’t want to let that happen. Today olafs surgery was successful but longer then expected. These next couple weeks will be a patient healing process. I drained my savings account and sold my old but comfortable/reliable car between yesterday and todays visits and procedures. I am just thankful my best friend, my everything, and my happiness is safe and alive. I rescued/adopted Olaf about 4 months ago. He is a 9 yr old chihuahua/dashund mix. Every dollar helps me and Olaf continue our dreams and journey and well being. I love you all and appreciate all the prayers and kind words from my friends, family, and church.
