Hello everyone, This is Oki, aka OkiOppai, OkiOppaiLegit from my social media pages.
I've never honestly asked for help like this ever in my entire life and never thought I would but as of January 8th this year, I and my family were hit with the terrible news that my sister was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. For those that don't know, it's cancer that affects the blood cells and can kill very fast if untreated.
To say the past couple of months have been hard would be an understatement, especially for her. We are all staying strong doing what we can, but I am not stupid to the fact that while she's in the hospital fighting cancer with chemotherapy, money is a big problem. Even more so because of the type of cancer, she can literally do nothing but fight it. She cannot leave the hospital when being treated and if she goes home she can not leave the house what so ever and no one can enter or leave too. This is due to her having no immune system while being on Chemo. Not to mention with covid around it just adds another layer of fear to that factor of trying to stay safe.
So this is why I'm here. I am starting a fundraiser to put money aside to help support her financially while she is fighting cancer. I will also be doing a fundraiser on my social media pages where all money for commissions from the 21st - 28th will be donated to her too. From that post, people lead me here to GoFundMe, as a way for people to donate out of gesture without a commission if they so desired. I will most likely in these circumstances ask clients to pay for commissions in this fundraiser week here too, as it would be donated to my sister as well, also it would be easy to keep track of its progress.
All money will be used for her living expenses, food, transport to the hospital, etc... as this is a very long battle ahead so while she can't work, she would not be able to sustain herself and she already had to move out of her flat, as she wouldn't be able to pay rent for it. Currently, on the days she is on leave of hospital, she is staying with my father in an isolated environment. When she's at home on leave, she still has to travel by car over 1 and a half hours to the hospital, 3-5 times a week for Chemo as well as for replacement platelets and such.
With this, I will be releasing new YCH's, Adopts and taking as many commissions as I can feasibly draw to raise as much as I can in this time.
I've never... really asked people for help. I've always been the type to offer help. It's honestly a new feeling for me, especially when asking for help of this magnitude. That might be hard to believe for some given how I am online sometimes. I'm very unsocial and like to keep my personal life close to my chest and not out to the public too much. I am an asshole sometimes and can take things a little too personally. Like most of us can be, we aren't all perfect, but you see, you all have no idea how much I wish I had gotten this instead of my sister... Because she is genuinely one of the nicest kind people you could ever meet, she's everything I'm not and it's unfair that life does this to the best of us. But I'm going to do what I'm best at, drawing, to support her as much as I can.
After the entire week, I will post an update on how much we all have earned together for her.
With this being said, thank you so much for reading. I've never asked or done something like this before but in advance just thank you for reading.
