The last nine months have been… a lot. I have been fairly unemployed for most of that time, doing everything I can to keep income coming in while applying, interviewing, building, hustling, and trying to get myself back on solid ground.

At the same time, my family has been dealing with an incredibly painful situation involving my mother, who has been caught in an ongoing romance scam, despite everything we've tried to do to intervene.

And now, we have lost our home.

Not just a house. Our home. The home my mother built with her own hands. The home our family has had for 20 years. The home I brought baby Zoi home to.

And because everything happened so quickly, we weren't just displaced—we lost nearly all of our belongings with it.

So when I say Zoi and I are starting over, I mean STARTING. OVER.

Rock. Bottom. Scratch.

And listen… I know how to rebuild. I know how to work. I know how to hustle. I know how to turn a mess into a plan. What I don't have right now is enough resources to bridge the gap between where we landed and getting us back on our feet.

So I'm asking my village for help.

I've started this GoFundMe to help us handle the immediate costs of starting over—housing, basic necessities, replacing what we lost, and getting enough stability underneath us so I can focus on rebuilding instead of just surviving the next 24 hours.

Our $15,000 goal isn't about replacing everything we lost overnight. It's about helping us secure housing, replace the essentials, cover immediate living and moving expenses, and give us space to begin rebuilding while I continue looking for full-time work.

If you are able to give, thank you. Seriously. Whether it's $5, $25, $100 or whatever you can comfortably do, it matters.

If you can't give, sharing this helps too.

AND WHILE I HAVE Y'ALL HERE…

If anybody knows anybody in the DMV who needs a Program Director, Youth Development professional, operations/systems person, trainer, facilitator, coach, professional problem-solver, or somebody who can walk into some chaos and say, “Okay…so here's what we're gonna do…” — HOOK. YA. GIRL. UP.

Because a GoFundMe can help us get through this moment.

A job helps me build us out of it.

We will rebuild. We will recover. And eventually, this will just be another chapter in one hell of a story.

But right now?

We need some help getting to the next page.
