Support Paul During Fatal House Fire Recovery
Donation protected
In the way of the Japanese "koden" tradition of giving a condolence gift given to someone when they have lost a loved one, we ask for your support of the Okada family following a terrible tragedy.
On May 11, 2025 -- Mother's Day-- Paul and Kim Okada's home that has been in the family for generations, suffered a devastating electrical fire believed to be due to frayed wires inside a recliner.
The fire resulted in the passing of Rose "Kim" Kimiko Okada (88) who was Paul's wife of 68 years; their dogs Cassie (Shitsu, 14), Jenny (Australian Shepherd/Australian Cattle Dog mix, 3), and Ninja (Rottweiler mix, 3); and housecat Lucy (8).
The heartbreak of losing the love of one's life and pet companions is unbearable, and still, Paul cannot live in his home. The home has been condemned and everything inside has to be thrown away. Years of memories gone and even daily necessities like clothing. There are also funeral expenses and alternate living expenses.
The costs to remediate and make his home livable again are incredible and surpass the insurance policy, but Paul wishes to remain in his home. It is all he has left.
Any contribution is a blessing and would greatly help alleviate the financial stress of the situation.
Please help us support Paul as he rebuilds his life, literally and figuratively. All kindness is appreciated during this challenging time.
For those who are spiritual, we ask that you keep the family in your prayers. Thank you so very much.
