Hi everyone,
I’m heartbroken even having to write this, but I need help for my boy, OJ.
OJ is my 18 year old orange cat, and I’ve had him since he was just 8 weeks old. He’s been with me through everything, every stage of my life, every high and low. He’s my best friend, my comfort, and a huge part of my world.
yesterday something went terribly wrong. OJ suddenly lost the use of his back leg, his toes turned blue and he was screaming in pain and we rushed him to the vet. They’ve now confirmed he has a blood clot stuck in his lower limb and they are currently checking the size of his heart to understand what caused it and how to treat him.
He’s staying at the Sault Animal Clinic, and the cost for his emergency care, heart medication, blood thinners, and monitoring is around $2,100. I would do anything for him, but I can’t manage this on my own.
To make things even harder, I just lost a very close friend a few days ago. I feel like everything is hitting at once, and I’m terrified of losing OJ too. I’m not ready to say goodbye to him. I’ve had him my entire life, and he’s been there for all 18 years of his life.
If anyone is able to donate, even a little, it would mean more to me than I can put into words. And if you can’t, sharing this would help just as much.
Thank you for reading, and please keep OJ in your thoughts.
— Brooke
