Ojo De Fortuna. Gallery, Botanica, Boutique.
Donation protected
We are a collective of queer women artists of color seeking to secure a brick and mortar community art gallery and boutique space in the Pilsen neighborhood of Chicago. Our gallery space will function as a home for the nourishment of the creative arts and preservation of botanica culture. Our boutique space will offer accessible art handmade by Chicago artists and products meant to highlight our cultural heritage and spirituality.
The funds raised through this campaign will be utilized to secure the space itself, and to provide the necessary equipment and materials to make this dream a reality. Expenses include, but are not limited to the following; Utilities, moving costs and fees, permits, licensing, shelving and fixtures/furniture, any repairs, and supplies.
We expect to move-in May 2019, however we need your assistance to reach our goal before the expected move-in date.
It is imperative to us as a collective of QWOC to establish our residency in Pilsen Chicago; as it is the community that has supported and uplifted each of us as individuals and each of our respective businesses. Our space will house the collective work of Cera & Lore, Que Mala Bruja and Jaqui Arte, all under one roof. By joining together, we intend to foster a sense fellowship through working relationships with the surrounding local businesses and residents.
We will greatly appreciate any and all funds collected from this campaign. Your contributions will set us on the path to truly manifesting a creative haven and proud cultural environment.
Gracias and Thank you,
Charlene, Taly, Romelia and Jaqui
