OHSU Postdoc Workers United Hardship Fund

Donate to the Hardship Fund for Postdocs at Oregon Health and Science University!

Postdoc Workers United (PWU) began negotiations on our first contract with OHSU in September, 2023. Six months later, OHSU is telling us they aren't willing to invest a single cent in their Postdocs, as evidenced by their status quo counter offer on all our economic proposals (wages, benefits, leave time, international affairs).

Our mission is to make OHSU a place where postdoctoral workers from all backgrounds are valued commensurate with the expertise and accomplishments we provide to our labs, the university, and our teams. We are fighting for a contract that lives up to this mission. As we prepare for mediation with OHSU (beginning 4/16/2024), we are thinking to the future, when a strike might be necessary to assert our value to OHSU.

All donations will go to the PWU Hardship Fund account and will be used to support workers in the case of a strike. In the event we reach an agreement without striking, or there are funds remaining, the Hardship Fund will be allocated toward: supporting members in the event of financial hardships, and supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. The PWU Hardship Fund is administered by the PWU Hardship Fund Review Committee.
