Help Us Move Our Home After Being Scammed

Hi, my name is Amanda, and I’m asking for help for my family after we were scammed by a fake mobile home moving company.

We had saved for years to relocate our 27x56 double-wide about 35 miles to our new property in Ohio. Everything was ready — permits, utilities, and movers we thought were legitimate. But it turned out to be a scam. The company took our money, forged paperwork, and disappeared.

Now our home is stuck, winter is closing in, and we’re left without the funds to complete the move or prepare the site. We’ve filed reports and reached out to every agency we can, but recovering the stolen money will take months — and we simply don’t have that long.

We’ve spoken with several legitimate moving companies in Ohio, and the real cost to move, tear down, transport, and re-set the home is between $12,000 and $15,000.

That includes:

Teardown, blocking, and transport (~35 miles)

Site prep and foundation

Reassembly, plumbing, and electrical hookup

Permits and inspection fees

We lost most of what we had to the scammer, so we’re asking for help to raise enough to finish the job and finally move into our home safely. If 15,000 - 20,000 people each gave just $1, we’d reach our goal and be able to cover GoFundMe’s small processing fees as well.

We know times are hard for everyone, and it’s humbling to ask for help — but we’re not giving up.
