My name is Hédi Carlee.

And I am a singer of mantra(lala's)

I used to be a singer of pop songs. As a recording artist (Charlie Dée) I recorded 4 albums, DJ Tiësto made a remix of one of my songs, I got praise from Miss Joni Mitchell herself and for years, together with my fantastic band, I played the small and big venues and festivals.

I've also founded A'DAM Music School, a non profit initiative of A'DAM Tower.

Together we've realized an exhilarating talent development program for talented boys and girls who love to make music and who are ready to steal the spotlight and your hearts. We focus on kids who do have the talent but not the economic circumstances to develop their skills.

In 2017 an unfortunate event (car accident) changed my life. Left with a damaged brain, my singing career and my work for the foundation came to an end and my healing journey began. I went from rehabilitation program to program, from doctors to therapists which gave me relief but the real game changer on my road to recovery was a mantra concert.

A mantra is a positive sentence, mostly in Sanskrit which, when you repeat and repeat it, it brings your body and mind in a mindful state. It turns off your stress response system so your healing capacities can be switched on...and there you go, right on your path to feeling better, to feeling more whole.

I couldn’t believe the effect the singing of these Sanskrit sacred sounds had on my brain and soul.

I started exploring the mantra and before I knew I found myself back in the studio to do what I love most. Singing my heart out. I found my goal in life again. And now I am so happy my soul can sing again.

The healing effects of the mantra gave me back my peace of mind. They've opened my heart and they've set me on a mission...

...to make the mantra mainstream! Cultivating a new mantra experience where healing blends with contemporary melodies. I strive to make mantras accessible to everyone. Experience tranquility and relaxation in a modern, inclusive way.

In empowering change through mantra music, I firmly believe in involving the youth – they are the key to a transformed world. Mantras are more than just melodies; they're pathways to peace, confidence, and creativity, as well for our young ones. As they chant the sacred sounds, they cultivate focus, feel embodied, reduce stress, and enhance mindfulness. Which are all beautiful skills to empower children to help heal trauma, express themselves and embrace their uniqueness.

I am invited by First Lady of the West Cape of South Africa Tracy Winde, founder of the Heart Shine Academy to share my voice, knowledge and inspiration with the children and young adults, students of the Amy Foundation and the Heart Shine Academy.

Heartshine Academy is a foundation based in Capetown, South Africa and provides creative arts programmes and mindfulness based therapeutic training to children and young people facing significant daily challenges.

Their mission is to inspire and empower our future generations.

Heartshine is dedicated to addressing the impact of lived traumatic experience on children and young people through offering complimentary creative arts programmes (including dance, music, art and drama) and mindfulness based teaching resources (including meditation, yoga & breathwork).

I developed a program for teachers of after school programs which focusses on fostering deep connections, allowing participants to confront and heal their deepest issues collaboratively, to expand one's emotional and energetic range and to connect more deeply with others, to create an embodied sense of connection through the power of sound, voice expression and singing together.
